This page links to the only letter in my files from 1985, and one of only two surviving letters from Aunt Muriel.
I was living in a flat in London's Bloomsbury until October, doing contract systems work. My first contract ran out in February when the firm I was contracted to got taken over by Ross Perot's EDS. Perot didn't approve of contract employees, so our contracts were not renewed. I then went back to Marathon Oil as a contractor, and worked there till October. In late October I moved to New York to work for First Boston Corp.
