Give me an apple,
Give me a book,
Give me a seat in an ingle nook.
Sing me of fairies
Tell me of witches,
Rain on the river,
Damp in the ditches.
Rain in the river,
Clouds in the sky,
Shall I go wandering?
No! Not I.

My song when I was little.

When I was a little girl I lived in an old house with a very long garden. This had a little brook at the bottom & a willow tree. I used to take my books & climb the tree hiding away from everyone. I so loved books, which in those days were mostly school & Sunday school prizes which were always very moral teaching children to be GOOD.
