These 68 pages of notes were written from January 1993 to November 1996. Mum was under residential care at Lister House, a small private institution run by Peggy Lister, an old nursing acquaintance.

The notes are contained in a notebook Mum bought for the purpose, Wild Flower Notebook. They were inspired by the birth of my daughter Eleanor Muriel (Nellie) on January 5th 1993. The main narrative part, 64½ pages of entries all addressed to Nellie, was written from February 14th 1993 to September 8th 1996. That is followed by a 3½-page note to me dated November 17th 1996.
