Now my darling it is August 20th & your Auntie Judith has been to see me to tell me what a lovely time she had with you all. She tells me you are so lovely & charm everyone, such a happy baby & everyone adores you. You are so loved. Your Mummy and Daddy must be so proud of you, but then, they are wonderful parents. You are their little Princess, & nice too.
The following is a little game your Grandfather played with John & Judith when they were little. He would hold them across his knees or legs & jump them up and down & sing this little ditty: —
Bumpety Bump, Bumpety Bump
Here comes the galloping Major.
Riding his snow-white charger
Like an Indian Rajar.
All the girls declare
I'm a gay old stager. T.O.
